Caduceus Quest: a video game encouraging STEM career interest in youth

Resilient Games Studio is developing Caduceus Quest, a theory-based digital role-playing game that provides health education and encourages health and biomedical science career interest in Black and Latinx young people. This builds on the first iteration of the digital educational game.

Our university partner, Ci3 at The University of Chicago, conducted a pilot study during the game’s first phase. Young people between the ages of 13-18 who resided primarily on the South or West Sides of Chicago, participated in a gameplay session led by Ci3 researchers.

After playing the game, the study found that young people’s interest in health and biomedical science careers not only increased but so did their knowledge of HIV and PrEP awareness.
